Your information
Privacy Policy
Birth Partner is local-first. Core labor and reference tools work without an account. Cloud backup and family sharing are optional and begin only after you sign in.
Effective and last updated September 27, 2026
Information stored on your device
Labor-critical information remains available on your device so the app can work without a connection. Contraction history, kick counts, wellbeing check-ins, birth-plan notes, and similar sensitive records stay device-local by default.
Deleting the app or resetting its local data may remove information that has not been backed up elsewhere.
Information processed when you sign in
If you create an account, Supabase processes your email address, account identifier, authentication provider, sign-in metadata, and session information. Apple or Google may provide your name and email according to the choices you make with those providers. Birth Partner never receives your Apple or Google password.
Optional cloud backup
When you sign in, selected progress—such as setup choices, completed practice, bookmarks, checklists, and document or bag status—may be backed up to Supabase so it can be restored on another device. Cloud backup does not make Supabase the source of truth for labor-critical tools.
Family sharing
Family sharing begins only after you create or join a family with a private invite code. Supported family tracker entries are then synchronized through Supabase and become visible to authenticated members of that family. Row Level Security is used to restrict access to members of the same family.
Treat invite codes as private. Anyone with a valid code may be able to join the corresponding family space.
Email delivery
Resend may process your email address and delivery information to send authentication codes, account notices, and a requested copy of your family code. Authentication codes expire and should never be shared.
Service providers
- Supabase provides authentication, optional backup, database storage, realtime family synchronization, and account-deletion infrastructure.
- Resend provides transactional email delivery.
- Apple and Google provide optional sign-in services.
- Expo and the app stores provide build, distribution, and update delivery infrastructure.
- Vercel hosts this website and may process ordinary request information such as IP address, device information, and access time.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
How we use and share information
We use information to authenticate you, provide requested backup and family-sharing features, protect accounts, deliver service emails, troubleshoot failures, and comply with law. We do not sell personal information or use sensitive birth information for targeted advertising.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention, security, and your choices
Local information remains until you remove it, reset the app, or uninstall it. Cloud information remains while your account or family record is active and for a limited period when needed for security, recovery, legal compliance, or backups. No system can guarantee absolute security.
You may use core features without an account, sign out, leave a family, or use in-app account deletion. Account deletion removes cloud account access and associated cloud records according to the service's deletion process; information already stored on another family member's device may remain there.
Children and changes
Birth Partner is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when the product or its providers change. Material changes will be reflected by the updated date and, when appropriate, an in-app notice.
